COVID-19 continues to spread around the world with new information emerging hourly. The outbreak is having far-reaching effects for each one of us and extensive implications for the hospitality, travel and leisure industry.

We would like to use the power of our collaboration community to help those across the HTL industry in HR departments gain insights and advice on how to handle the situation from an employee and business continuity perspective.

We are hosting weekly webinars (see news and events page) to discuss how companies in our sector are handling the situation, to share different approaches and to support each other.

We will bring experts from organisations like SD Worx, The MBS Group, PwC and DWF to answer employment law questions, learn how others are dealing with the crisis, pull together ideas and resources. We will run webinars with Bright Horizons and Lauren Chiren on how to look after your and your employees' physical and mental wellbeing.

At this time, more than ever, we need diverse teams, diversity of thought, backgrounds and experiences to solve what is one of the world's unprecedented problems and overcome this challenge together globally.

Flexible Working Opportunities Available Via GIG

WiHTL has partnered with GIG – a flexible working online platform and app which allows business to quickly upscale staff at peak times - to support the redeployment of hospitality, travel and leisure employees who have lost their job due to the crisis, across alternative sectors.

We are inviting all businesses across hospitality, travel and leisure to encourage their employees who have lost their job to register for free on the GIG app. Companies that are in need of skilled workers are encouraged to work with GIG where shifts can be posted and managed through the innovative technology. The service is free on the app enabling individuals to secure a role in industries that are in need of additional support on a temporary or permanent basis at these unprecedented times.
