The Inclusion Summit returns for a fifth year!
We are excited and proud to announce a major milestone for WiHTL & DiR: we are now an accredited apprenticeship provider.
This accreditation strengthens our ability to support organisations across Hospitality, Travel, Leisure and Retail to develop inclusive, future-ready talent and to open up opportunities for all. It marks an important step in our continued commitment to building diverse leadership pipelines and embedding inclusion into business-critical capability.
The first apprenticeship we are accredited to deliver is the Corporate Governance Officer Level 4 Apprenticeship, fully funded via the apprenticeship levy.
This programme is designed to equip apprentices with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to support strong, effective governance, compliance and risk oversight. Crucially, it is built to enable sustainable business growth, underpinned by inclusion.
As with all WiHTL & DiR programmes, inclusion is not an add-on, it is embedded throughout the content, delivery and outcomes.
Why the Corporate Governance Officer Apprenticeship stands out
This apprenticeship has been purposefully designed to deliver real value for both participants and employers:
A recognised Level 4 qualification - equivalent to the first year of a degree
Built for business impact - apprentices apply their learning to real organisational challenges
Inclusion by design - inclusive thinking, behaviours and outcomes are embedded throughout
Cross-industry learning - participants join a powerful community spanning hospitality, travel, leisure and retail, expanding networks and insight
Future-focused - designed to build capability, confidence and readiness for next-level roles
Fully funded through the apprenticeship levy - helping employers maximise levy spend while delivering measurable return on investment
The Corporate Governance Officer Level 4 Apprenticeship is ideal for anyone who has governance as part of their role and is particularly suited to those looking to build a strong foundation for progression into more senior governance, leadership or specialist roles.
Providing the learner can take the learning back to their workplace to demonstrate and practice their knowledge and skills this could be in traditional governance roles such as; Company Secretariat, Legal, Board and Executive support roles, or more operational roles such as Health, Safety and Compliance, Risk and Audit, Procurement and Supplier Management.
For employers, the programme offers a practical, levy-funded way to strengthen governance capability while developing inclusive talent from within the organisation.
We are now recruiting to the inaugural cohort of the Corporate Governance Officer Apprenticeship.
Nominations close: end of February (and will be assessed for eligibility)
Programme launch: March
Full details, including eligibility criteria and the nomination form, can be found in our programme brochure.
This apprenticeship is just the beginning of a long‑term commitment to building inclusive leadership capability across our sectors. Once the Corporate Governance Officer Apprenticeship is underway, we plan to introduce additional levy-funded leadership development programmes, including:
Coaching programmes
Inclusive leadership development
Programmes for finance leaders
Programmes for women leaders
Programmes for site managers
Each will be designed with the same focus on inclusion, impact and future-readiness.
