Project 10,000
Our 2025 Impact Report is here!
Project 10,000
WiHTL & Diversity in Retail are delighted to announce the launch of Project 10,000. This new initiative represents our bold ambition to positively impact 10,000 individuals through our Leadership Development Programmes (LDPs) by 2030.
Our award-winning, cross-industry LDPs help organisations build and invest in their diverse talent pipelines, driving both broad and deep cultural change. They positively impact not just the delegates who take part, but also the mentors, line managers, executive sponsors and reverse mentees who participate. All play a vital role in advancing inclusion across the Hospitality, Travel, Leisure, and Retail sectors and are therefore included within the overall Project 10,000 target.
Project 10,000 is more than just a number or a box-ticking exercise. It is a commitment to creating a ripple effect of impact that extends far beyond the LDPs themselves. By setting this target, we are not only seeking to accelerate lasting cultural change, but we are also empowering future leaders and their organisations to build workplaces that are more inclusive and where anyone can thrive and reach their full potential.
For delegates, participation in the LDPs can be a powerful tool for self-reflection and personal growth, as Ting Dalton, Content Team Lead at Saga Travel Group, explains:
“The LDP has made me realise that I have a voice, and that it matters. From inspiring talks and sessions to being partnered with a supportive mentee, I have learned so much about myself in the last few months. We rarely get time to sit, digest, and analyse what we do on a day-to-day basis, and this course allowed me to really question my role and how I am perceived by others — and most importantly, how I want to be perceived.”
Meanwhile, for those who participate in the LDPs as mentors, the positive impact can be significant.
“Being part of the Senior Ethnic Leaders Programme as a mentor electrified the power of the programme and its impact on the diversity agenda” says Leni Savva, CFO at Elior UK.
Participation not only benefits the individuals involved, but also the organisations they represent, as Suzie Welch, Managing Director of ODEON UK&I, points out:
“Over the time that we have been members of WiHTL, our participation in the LDPs has grown substantially, making them a core element of our wider development offerings. We’ve seen first-hand how WiHTL & DiR’s LDPs shape and support our colleagues’ leadership, giving them new tools and fresh perspectives. They also open doors to an external network and community for ongoing learning and engagement. The insights, innovative thinking, and energy they bring back to us as a business are invaluable.”
Don’t miss the chance to become part of Project 10,000 by benefitting from the incredible impact WiHTL & DiR’s LDPs can have on your organisation and colleagues. There is a range of programmes on offer, including:
