Drive and support the development of a diverse talent pipeline across the finance function all the way to senior leadership
Leverage the role of the CFO in championing diversity as a strategic business objective and increase engagement with the finance community and beyond
Establish a robust link between diversity, inclusion, productivity and wider business impact
A number of groundbreaking initiatives have already been launched, including a first-of-its-kind Finance Career Aspirations in HTL and Retail Survey and the transformative Aspiring CFO in HTL and Retail Leadership Development Programme. The inaugural EDI CFO Forum will take place later this year.
“According to global data company BoardEx, stats from 2023 show that 25% of CEOs in the FTSE 350 and 20% in the S&P 500 come from a finance background. The evolutionary phase from CFO to CEO therefore provides a prime opportunity to strategically design succession planning for a more diverse pipeline. However, finance as a role is still largely man-dominated. I am grateful to all the CFOs who are Founding Members of the Board.
I would also like to extend my special thanks to Mark Veldon and his team at AlixPartners for providing their insight and support to the CFO Board.”

"As we deepen our partnerships with initiatives that matter, our increased involvement with WiHTL & DiR marks a significant stride in our journey towards inclusive excellence. By championing the newly launched CFO Board and supporting the CFO Forum – we strive to set new standards for leadership at every organisational level beyond advocacy, focusing on the integration of diversity, equity, and inclusion into the strategic heart of business operations. Our commitment reflects a belief in the transformative power of diversity within the finance function and beyond, recognising the essential role of CFOs in embedding these principles into the corporate ethos and linking them seamlessly with our environmental, social, and governance goals. This is more than support: AlixPartners is actively engaged in creating a future with values that champion diversity and inclusivity at their core in hospitality, leisure, travel, and retail. Our continued involvement is a testament to our dedication to fostering meaningful change, illustrating that our actions extend far beyond mere words.”
